Young Life Summer Camp 07

I've just gotten back from Summer Camp. I really didn't want to go.. but am so glad that I did as I learnt alot.. had a great time & got to meet some awesomely cool people. There will be a heap of photos going up in the shop section of my website in the next 24 hours. While they will be in the shop section they won't be for sale.. just for viewing. If you want copies of photos, you will be best to contact Fudge at head office (i think).

Canada

Christmas in Canada, with the love of my life. Life can't get much better.
So what you all want to know is the highlights of the trip, some are rather cheesy, but here goes.
1. Hearing Lauren giggle and actually be sitting there next to her to hear it, rather than through the phone. She has the cutest giggle ever!
2. Being photographed with Lauren by Jason Leon, www.jleonphotography.com in Edmonton at the World's Largest Shopping Centre. This guy is an amazingly talented photographer who has a really amazing way of making you have fun while being photographed.
3. Going to a Pro level Ice Hockey Game in Calgary. We saw the Calgary Flames play versus Edmonton. Calgary went down 3-2, but was so much fun!
4. Spinning the car twice 360 on the way to Banff during a blizzard. I got in trouble when I told Lauren that I thought it was quite fun. I was perhaps a little too relaxed!
5. Christmas Eve Church service in the middle of nowhere at a cute little church with a whole stack of Lauren's family.
6. Icing Christmas cookies a few nights before Christmas. Realising that i'm a creative perfectionist when I managed to ice about 5 cookies in the time that Lauren did around 20. Mine looked good though... hehe
7. Seeing the sunrise at 9am.
8. Karaoke @ the Grandparents place @ Christmas. Lauren's dad Keith is the world champion of Karaoke!
9. Meeting my 1st Cousin once removed in Edmonton & realising how there are a few family traits that we all seem to have! Namely being Procrastinators.. and being people person's only if we choose to be.

Lauren's Family- Maureen (mum) Keith (dad) Lauren (the gorgeous one) Bethany & Twila (Lauren's older sisters)

I made the spastic (creative perhaps?) looking one over to the left which has a pink base.

Me trying to look tough. I'm really the opposite though.

Lauren & I in Banff as frozen water fell on us. I think they call it snow or something :-)

Lunch with Simon James

Simon James is a photographic legend. I met him at a Wedding Photography workshop he held in Sydney & ever since then my photography has taken a new path. A few weeks later I found myself in Simon's studio helping out/learning from the master and assisting him on shoots. That was the experience of a lifetime. On a recent trip to Melbourne I caught up with Simon and his beautiful partner Annette at a lovely restaurant in North Fitzroy named "Matteo's". I didn't know lunch could be so expensive, but when you have lunch with your hero, money is never an issue.
I was full of questions as to how I can make my wedding photography services even better as I regard this guy as the master of wedding photography. I had 2 weddings on saturday & put some of the things he taught me into place and it definitely added to the day.
