Jason & Leytece

What a magical, fun day! I just got home from Jason & Leytece's Wedding and I couldn't wait to have a quick squiz at some of the shots from their wedding. I can't believe how photogenic Jason is! I was rather pleasantly surprised.
I'm sooooooo nearly going to fall asleep so I'll need to make this quick (and i might update this text tomorrow).
I know there are people out there dying to see pics so I'll do my best to upload them before I collapse. It was such a hot day and we seemed to be out in the sun an aweful lot.
Expect more text here tomorrow!

Tianna-one of the bridesmaids organised to photograph the guests (and me) at the reception
and put together an album of polaroid photos and get the guests to comment. They got a great
cheesy shot of me and I just had to put a comment in. The text reads "Sorry guys, I forgot to put
film in the camera! Love & Kisses, James Day, Your sexy ass photographer". Now.. I don't go
around calling myself "the sexy ass photographer", but Tianna told me to write that! Sorry mum!

Jacinda & Nick E-Session

Hey Y'All,
I got to roll around in mud today with Jacinda & Nick & I had a ball! We couldn't decide on a venue for the photoshoot so we just drove until I got inspired. It took me about 5 mins & I came across this location.
Now, just to be mean, I'm only putting up 2 photos for now. I will probably put up more rather soon.
Jacinda requested that I put the photo online of her jumping in the water. I think she wants to prove to the world that I'm slowly going crazy. I think they already knew that.
I really love our engagement photoshoots because we get to capture the Love and fun and friendship between a couple in such a relaxed atmosphere. Basically we create some fun moments & capture them. Also, I get the couple to do something a bit crazy so that on their wedding day nothing can be hard.... I don't usually ask people to jump in the water... but they seemed to enjoy it.
Nick and Jacinda's wedding photos will be an absolute breeze. They're so at ease in front of a camara and really know how to "work it".

Also, for those wondering, Simon James, one of Australia's most highly reguarded photographers has been forced to postpone his visit to JDP. We were going to be shooting a few weddings together next month. We're looking to reschudule for later in the year. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for me & I really am excited to have Simon come and visit as soon as his busy schedule allows.

Here are a few photos to keep you all happy. First pic is a bit of a random funny one that caught my eye. The second depicts afformentioned water incident!

Peace out, keep it real and don't forget to feed the cat!
JD

just text this time.. no images for once!

Hey y'all
I hope you've been enjoying all the photos that have been going up. There will be 3 more engagement shoots going up in the very near future. I think I might just ramble on for a bit and expect that no one will probably read this.
The last week has been huge for bookings and enquiries. It seems that everyone that is enquiring is booking which is really refreshing to know that people are liking what we are offering.
I'm getting super excited about Lauren's visit. It's only 1 month away. I wish it was sooner though. If any of you have any good ideas of what I can show Lauren while she is in the New England Region, then let me know!
Also, some other cool info is that this month we have had 171868 page views using up 4.29gb of bandwidth. Just a random fact. I get rather obsessed with checking to see the stats on the site.
One of the interesting things that I can look at is what people search in Google to find me. Some of the one's which I thought were worth mentioning are "wacky poses" "karaokes churches canadá" "all time romance favourite" "jim day photo" "jimmy james photographer". I was hoping to see more of "james is the coolest photographer ever I want him so bad to shoot my wedding" but.. who knows. Maybe it will happen now that i've written that in my blog.
Oh, other exciting news, I got my hair cut. Which one you ask. Prizes for those who can pick the correct hair that got cut!
Tonight I felt like doing something random for some friends.. so I went to Coles, Bought a heap of packet mixes and made 4 batches of muffins and went and delivered them to friends. Don't expect that every week guys!
Ok, I promise you the next blog post will be full of photos and less of me talking! Thanks for reading.
G'Night.

Kristie & Derek Cont.

I was going through all 3000 of Kristie & Derek's Photos today, & felt that there were a few more which I'd like to add to the Blog. There's a few fun one's here & a few extra of the natural moments.

I just love the dreamy feel that this photo has.

Confused groomsmen, with a playful Kristie in the background.

Derek is apparently well known for his X-Box skills. The snuck in a few minutes of gaming before the ceremony.

Kristie's stunning engagement ring.

The wedding rings.

The little girl (her name was Chloe) really stole the show. She was hell bent on getting close to the bride and groom during the ceremony.
Finally after the ceremony had finished she was free to get near Kristie!

& finally.. I think Kristie was a little worried that it was going to start raining on her parade!

Little Toby!

'sup peeps. I shot Shelly and Matt's wedding last year.. ooh what a gorgeous day. They had an exquisite outdoor ceremony on the grounds of Saumarez with a super long red carpet.. with pink and white rose petals! Don't get me started on the cool cars that they had....
Anyhow.. Shelly and Matt recently had a little baby boy Tobias who is full of life.. full of crazy cool expressions and just was an absolute delight to photograph.
I seriously dig these pics. I hope you do too! If you do.. tell everyone that 'tis the season to get baby pics done.. before I get way too snowed under with weddings again.

The Gorgeous Lauren + My annual birthday speech.

Just got this from our wonderful photographer friend Jason Clark over in Canada. His website is www.jleonphotography.com
I absolutely love this photo.. I think it's going to end up being printed very shortly and stuck up all over my walls.
Isn't she gorgeous!
For those of you that missed my annual birthday speech, it's probably the first time when I haven't gotten all emotional, promised that It would be my last birthday in Armidale and tried to inspire everyone.
Instead this year my speech was simply:
"Someone asked me what its like to be 22, and i said its good but I want to take it to the next level but I might wait a year. Now i've made it to 22 i think there's no turning back. I'll keep you informed.. if I can take it to the next level i'll be seeing you all next year". Someone then asked what happens if I don't.. then I said to "have a really nice funeral with lots of chocolate and other nice things".

Anyhow.. admire this gorgeous photo of Lauren!

I found myself some new family!

Last night after photographing Bec & Jon's Wedding I met my brand new Step Sister, her husband and their kids who are all from Sydney. Mum asked me if I had my camera... dah.. Of course mum.. So we had an impromptu shoot in the middle of maccas with the new family.
I love family, and family is so important to me so it was absolutely fantastic to meet these guys!

Here's some pics of the bunch.

My web designer thinks he's funny

The poor guy ran out of ideas for a new business logo & came up with this one. He wouldn't be the first local business to steal the general gist of my logo design...enough said.

Cooper Siblings Portrait.

May I introduce Bec, Max & Emma who wanted to surprise their mum for Christmas by getting this shot done for her. Oh well, surprise ruined I guess...
(I did say that I probably shouldn't put this on the Blog to them... but the thought of missing out on being on the blog is apparently worse than ruining the surprise for their mum. )

Kesha Riley Bucks Party

Last night a group of us went to Uralla to celebrate Keshas Bucks Party. We started off a with a few woodfired pizzas, then to the Top Pub for dessert/ a few drinks...and as I have a wedding today I was home by 9:30pm. Yes mum, I am looking after myself..
The fancy dress award went to Kesha Riley who dazzled us with a nice brightly coloured jacket, pink floral top and short blue shorts....he had no choice however as Alex & I organised for him to wear this. Thank you Salvo's for your fine wares. If you are the previous owner of this clothing & would like it back due to it now being back in fashion after Kesha Riley was seen to be wearing it around the streets of Uralla, be sure to call me!

Is it still there?

Luckily I was around to come to the rescue and cover this poor person up...

D.Fine'st Ladies

The fine ladies from D'Fine.Hair www.d-fine.com.au Requested that I come along to shoot some new promotional photos for their advertising. We had a real blast doing their photos and they were up for anything. There are a few more crazy shots that we took, but i'll just show you a "conservative sample", just in case they don't want those butt slapping shots out there which they told me not to tell anyone about. Ok, so they don't exist..
Thanks Janelle, Joy, Robyn, Sarah, Bec & Leisa!

Recommend A Local Business.

As many of you would know, I'm big on good service. If I receive good service I will continue to go back to that business time after time and I DO tell so many people about the good service i receive. I think it's important to reward good service so that people actually know that they're doing something right. Day after day i'm regularly asked for my opinions on other wedding related businesses in the New England Area. I can comment on many of them, but some I haven't had dealings with. So, here's where you come in. I'd like to hear stories about your experiences with businesses in the local area who are related to the wedding industry. Whether it be a florist who delivered far beyond your expectations, a catering company who bent over backwards for you or a church minister who welcomed you with open arms. I'd like to hear about it! In return, I will be putting some of these positive comments on my BLOG & also also featuring the businesses contact details for the world to see. If you're a business owner & you feel that you're service is far ahead of the competition, then i'd also like to hear from you.
email me @ james@jamesdayphotography.com or simply add a comment to this Blog.

NEWS JUST IN!

Following the success of the past overseas holiday to New York & Canada in August, James Day is pleased to announce that once again he will be jetsetting across the universe world back to Canada.... Calgary in particular. Why you ask? There is a rumour floating around that James may have met a lovely young lady there who has invited him back for another visit! We can neither confirm or deny these reports. In a press statement James wanted to make it clear that if there was a young lady he was visiting, her name would be Lauren, because he thinks it's a tops name and she would be from Calgary as he thinks it's a great place to visit. He also added that he will be departing the country on the 15th of December 06 back on the 5th of Jan, 07. We will keep you informed as more comes to hand.

We have reason to believe that this is likely to be a photo of a girl named Lauren from Calgary & a young lad named James from Armidale.

Wellfare to Sal.. Err I mean FareWell to Sal!

Sal Friend is leaving town. The whole town is sad as a result. I hear that Coffs Harbour is rejoicing though as they're going to gain a new member... one of the coolest Bogan's (Bogan is a reference to a song we once wrote together) you'd ever meet. I met Sal @ a camp called NCYC in Newcastle years ago then a few years later she moved to Armidale for Uni & she joined my friendship group and stole the whole lot of them she loved them so much. If you'll miss sal, then leave a comment. If you don't comment, Sal will cry & we'll have a flood. When I think of the highlights i've shared with Sal, the one's that come to mind are sitting in my car in the central park carpark flashing my headlights with my windows down playing "Jet", and having Sal dance in front of the car (like no one is watching) . From that day on, Jet became our band! We don't just have a song.. but a band!
We'll miss you Sal!

Me & Sal.
